Brief

Talented copywriter Devin Hollefriend needed to establish a personal brand. He required a logo that was bold and exciting, but still logical and recognizable. Additionally, he needed a website to bolster and market his brand to advertise his services and showcase his portfolio.

Outcome

The logo is a personal brand, leading with Devin’s initials. It combines a classic pen iconography with the counter of the capital letter ‘D’. The logo therefore prioritizes the personal brand while relating it directly to copywriting. The black and white colour palette is simple, but strong as it allows for versatility and stark contrast. In the website design, red is introduced to provide a pop of colour and used strategically to highlight key points and draw the eye to particular elements. The overall web design is classic and clean, much like Devin’s persona as a writer. It does not overstimulate, but allows for the content of the piece to shine.
